The values within you at the very core of who you are
What I value makes me who I am. Spirituality, family, health, giving… They give me purpose. They fuel my inner guidance and outer confidence.
The values within you at the very core of who you are. They are the building blocks; the foundations and cornerstones for you. Things like respect, progress, family, fun, nature, achievement, or freedom.
When you find yourself feeling angry, frustrated, demotivated, or deflated around situations or people it may because one or more of your values is being denied, suppressed, or repressed – and we experience that as a negative emotion.
You know those times when you’ve felt really alive, amazing, or buzzing?
Those are the times when one or more of your values are being honored, where you are in alignment with your beliefs.
When you get to know your values, you can start to make choices and align your life around them.
What do you value?
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you’re asked that question?
Freedom? Money? Family? Stability? Autonomy? Fame? Home?
Write a list of 10 things you hold near and dear. 10 things that are most important to you. They are the reason you get up in the morning.
It’s important to know that we each are entitled to our own values and beliefs. Our own perspective on the world.
Unless it’s harmful or dangerous, don’t try to change the beliefs and values of others.
If you haven’t been living your values, this may be a good time to start. Perhaps you’ll find a sense of peace and purpose when you do.
